When We Say We Are A Catholic Sorority . . .
Pi Alpha Chi is a place for women that share the same values and want to grow and build relationships with other women on campus. To us, this means embracing our traditional Greek life values of Fellowship, Scholarship, Citizenship, and Leadership, along with our faith-based values derived from the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church.
A Potential New Member (PNM) does NOT have to be Catholic in order to join. However, to ensure that each New Member feels comfortable and confident in her decision to join Pi Alpha Chi, all PNMs undergo a semester-long New Member Program where they have ample time to discern whether or not Pi Alpha Chi is the right fit for them prior to Initiation.

" We exist because we believe women need an opportunity to live out Greek life through a Catholic lens. "
We recognize that our college years are critical to our personal growth and development, and we believe that an active faith life both enriches and sustains our collegiate experiences. To encourage each member in her unique spiritual journey, our Vice President of Faith Enrichment plans approximately two optional spiritual events per semester. Past spiritual events have included an afternoon at the Cloisters on the Platte, rosary making, and hosting guest speakers from Christ the King Sisters.
Outside of the sorority, many of our members are involved in other activities such as leading Bible studies, pro-life marches, daily Mass, and adoration. Some members also participate in various Newman Center initiatives like singing in the choir, volunteering for phone-a-thon, and attending mission trips, pilgrimages, and retreats.

A message from our VP of Faith Enrichment...
Hello! My name is Alaina Furasek. I am Pi Alpha Chi's 2024 Vice President of Faith Enrichment! I look forward to seeing how the Lord works in each of the women in our sorority this year.
Within the heart of Christ is a flower, one that will bloom so beautifully and passionately if given the food it needs. When I think of this sisterhood, I think of a field of wildflowers. Each woman has her own light, her own radical beauty. Some are roses, some are daisies, others lilies. Each of them decorate the field in their dazzling glory. The Lord has planted them in the earth to grow and to bloom. He has led them to this sisterhood to make His field of wildflowers full and complete. I listened to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to apply for this position, and I hope that through my and others' efforts the Lord can accomplish what he desires for our sisterhood this year. I hope to strengthen our chapter through the Visitation. Mary went out of her way to go to Elizabeth and cared for her for as long as she needed. They celebrated each other with genuine joy. I want each woman to be a Mary to each other and receive one another like Elizabeth. I hope we can be that for you, too. If the Lord plants a seed in your heart, listen to it. Come and see what Pi Alpha Chi has to offer you with growing your faith throughout your collegiate years. I promise you, no matter what, you won't regret it. PAX and love, Alaina Furasek |
