Public Relations and Technology Chair

Spread your wings. Spread our message. Set the world on fire.

Hello everyone! My name is Kristen Labadie and I'm your current Public Relations and Technology Chair for Pi Alpha Chi! I am a junior double majoring in Graphic Design and Advertising and Public Relations. I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and am a member of the Zeta class #ZetaPower! I currently have two internships, I do marketing for Kidwell which includes a lot of internal marketing and designing, I also have a really cool internship with the athletic department at Unl. I work with the Creative and Emerging Media Department and I run social media for the women's soccer team and I assist in the social media for the women's gymnastics team where I primarily make the game graphics. This internship has taught me a lot about managing social media, from creating content to planning out a month of posting. If you're ever at a soccer game or gymnastics meet, feel free to say hello!

With my double major, I have learned a lot of analytic knowledge from my Advertising classes and a lot of design skills from my Graphic Design classes. I hope to use these skills and resources to create an engaging social media that will excite potential New Members and make our sorority stand out! Always send me pictures if you have any my number is (402) 880-0543!

Goal: Create purposeful and effective communication tools to promote and enhance the chapter.

I plan on completing this goal by creating and documenting a marketing policy for our chapter that lays out the guidelines for our branding and public relation needs. This policy will guide the other projects I do, including: creating videos to gain buzz for our social media pages, developing impactful promotional materials for our chapter, implementing strategic marketing tactics for our social media pages, replacing old graphics with fresh designs that represent how our chapter has grown, designing meaningful and representative icons and banners for our social media pages and updating the website with current, creative and eye-catching branding techniques.

Meaning of the Mantra:

Spread your wings. Spread our message. Set the world on fire.

Spread your wings.

Good communication doesn't just happen. It is something we have to work at to improve reach and impact. The members of Pi Alpha Chi need to be devoted to spread your wings and take on this communication challenge.

Spread our message.

Our chapter needs to be able to spread our message, and to do that we must be able to communicate efficiently with impact. It is important that our chapter utilizes every marketing tool available to us to do this effectively.

Set the world on fire.

As members of Pi Alpha Chi, we have an opportunity to set the world on fire. What we are doing here is special, unique, inspiring and impactful. It is up to us to show that fire and spread the light that we bring to campus.
