Welcome to the official website of Pi Alpha Chi at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln!
a letter from our president
Coming into college, I deeply desired to find a community that I could call home. I wanted belong somewhere while finding lifelong friends who would push me to grow in all areas of my life. I found my forever home in Pi Alpha Chi.
The summer before freshman year, I signed up for primary recruitment knowing absolutely nothing about Greek life. I figured that joining a sorority would be a quick and easy way to get connected and find friends to go through my college experience with. During primary recruitment week, I was faced with the challenge of juggling other time commitments for activities that I wanted to be involved in. Because I felt so overwhelmed, I dropped out of recruitment, and thought that if I was supposed to be in Greek life, an opportunity would arise and everything would work itself out.
The first week or so of school, I still desired the kind of community that only a Greek sisterhood could offer. So, at a Newman Center event, I decided to take a chance on Pi Alpha Chi and sign up to attend an informal recruitment event. When I went to my first informal recruitment event, what stood out to me the most about the women of Pi Alpha Chi was their authentic joy. Not only did these women love each other, but they loved Christ wholeheartedly and unapologetically. I knew that I could walk with these women in all areas of my life during college and beyond.
In Pi Alpha Chi, our motto is "Be Who You Are Meant to Be, and You Will Set the World on Fire". Our sisterhood lives out this motto by celebrating each woman's individuality and unique gifts from God. We believe that each individual women can make a lasting impact on her sisters and her community by following God's will for her life.
Looking back on the past three years of my college experience, joining the sisterhood of Pi Alpha Chi was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I met my best friends, fell more in love with Christ and His Church, and grew in many areas, especially in our pillars of scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and citizenship.
If you are like me, searching for a sisterhood and desiring to belong somewhere, my advice to you is to follow your heart, and God will lead you home. Know that the women of Pi Alpha Chi are always eager to meet a new friend or welcome a new sister.
With PAX and love,
